New FDA "Office" For Dietary Supplements A Welcome By Industry Insiders

Recently, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) officially recognized the creation of an "office" of dietary supplements. The move, which was applauded and which was accepted favorably by many in the industry; the American Herbal Products Association, The Consumer Healthcare Products Association, the Council for Responsible Nutrition, the Natural Products Association and the United States Natural Products Alliance, means that the new "office" will be better able to regulate the existing laws more clearly and consistently.

Under the old system, in which regulatory enforcement was under a "divisional system", effective enforcement was called into question. Thus, the change.

Life Choice CEO and founder Eldon Dahl supports the move. With over 30 years experience in the natural health industry Dahl has seen many instances where product quality was being sacrificed by other manufacturers for convenience and low pricing advantages. According to Dahl "many manufacturers create inexpensive supplements that possess zero therapeutic value. In the end, consumers think that they are getting a good deal, but in the end, they end up purchasing an item that possesses no health benefits at all."

For Dahl, it all comes down to the Yes's and the No's.
