Bio: Eldon Dahl, Founder, Chief Executive Officer of Life Choice Ltd.
Eldon has nearly three decades of experience in the naturopathic and natural healing industries. In his executive role with the company, Eldon oversees all daily operations, he also spearheads all health research into medical conditions—specifically anti-aging and chronic disease treatments.
Eldon graduated as a Doctor of Naturopathic medicine in 1988. He entered the naturopathic field after witnessing family members struggle with cancer and recognizing a connection between nutrition and disease. He attributes his success in the industry by not compromising on core values, and using the highest quality raw materials in all formulations. His mission statement of “Healing the Nation, One Person at a Time” really says it all. Outside of his work with Life Choice, Eldon gives back to the community through his volunteer efforts offering free supplements to naturopathic satellite clinics.
Both current fathers and would-be fathers can agree that health is important. What are some steps fathers can take to be in good health to prepare for kids, and to keep up with the kids once they arrive?
Avoid glyphosate. A studypublished in the journal Free Radical Biology and Medicinefound that low dose exposure to Roundup for 30 minutes led to Sertoli cell death in rat testis. Interestingly, the dosage used in the study was 10x more diluted than the recommended dose for herbicide usage, and was still toxic to humans. In similar studies, consequences for sperm included a decline in sperm volume and concentration, as well as a decline in semen initial fructose and osmolality.
Eat organic. On a related note, one of the biggest steps you can take to avoid glyphosate is to eat organic food. Just last year, astudy in the British Journal of Nutrition analyzed 343 studies comparing organic food to conventional food. The study found organic food is higher in antioxidants, lower in cadmium, and also lower in pesticide residues.
Exercise. The Annals of Internal Medicine found that much of the erectile dysfunction in older men occurs in those who are healthy. However, modifiable health behaviours like physical activity and leanness reduced the risk for erectile dysfunction in men without prostate cancer. Anotherstudy measured Dihydrotestosterone (DHT) in young men before and after a sprinting exercise. DHT was elevated after sprinting.
