An Issue Of Quality, Not Profit
A focus on quality gets industry recognition

When it comes to natural health products do you know what's in the bottle?
For nutraceutical manufacturer  Life Choice and their CEO Dr. Eldon Dahl, the answer in too many instances is no
Dahl cited a recent study of 44 different natural health products covering 12 different companies in which almost 60% of the products contained DNA from at least one plant species that was not indicated on the label.
According to Dahl, "over 20% of the products in the study contained unlisted fillers; one third of the products in the study involved product substitution, in which case the substance in the bottle did not match the label name at all."

For Dahl, a trained naturopath with over 30 years experience in the natural health industry, these types of revelations not only reflect poorly on the natural health industry but they also do total disservice to the consumer. It is his view that this lack of due diligence is in many ways a direct result of cost cutting measures introduced by the manufacturer.
"When a manufacturer cuts costs then important measures such stringent and reliable testing methods, oversight on the sourcing of your raw materials and suppliers becomes less important in the process. At the end of the day it's the quality of the product that suffers. I call it profit at the expense of  quality."
When asked if this were a new trend in the industry? he replied, "I am not sure if this is a new trend or not, but I do know that with the new tougher regulations that have been recently introduced and enforced in our industry, many nutraceutical manufacturers are having a difficult time because of the smaller profit margins."
For Dahl one of the litmus tests of product quality comes from how well your products are received and viewed upon by your peers. For Life Choice it came in the recent nomination for the 2014 NDNR  Physician's Choice Award, a nomination which Dahl takes great pride,"being nominated in the  supplements and nutraceutcial category for the 2014 NDNR Physician's Choice Award is an honour, it shows how our entire team is able to work together to produce a natural health product that can make a real difference in a person's life."
